Ingredients
There is no sugar actually added to our plant-based milk alternatives except Best of Plants Chocolate which contains raw cane sugar. There will however be a small amount of naturally occuring sugar in the drinks.
Our Barista Edition uses the great tasting blend of rice, coconut and soya. It has a great light mild taste and the recipe is designed so it can be frothed as cows mik to make great cappuccino's. The recipe contains guar gum which helps with the frothing.
Guar gum is a widely used as an ingredient. We added it to some of our drinks because it is soluble and forms a slight gel that helps to prevent any separation over shelf life. Guar gum is made from guar beans which are a legume.
The sea salt in our drinks is high grade sodium chloride salt derived from the vacuum evaporation of solar salt brine derived directly from sea water.
The taste is not distingtive of any 1 particular milks used in the blend. Sometimes 100% plant-based non-dairy drinks can be too strong in taste. These synergistic blends of milk give a great taste more similar to cows milk. The taste of the blends is improved by using optimum blends to give a great light tasting mild drink.

Usage
If the product had no signs of spoilage and “Use By” date was current, the degraded appearance could possibly be caused by improper storage conditions somewhere in the drinks shelf life. One example, if the product was frozen, it may have broken down and separated forming curdled pieces once thawed. Also excessive heat will effect the shelf life.
No, we do not recommended freezing Abbot Kinney's drinks as this may cause the product to separate irregularly and this greatly reduces the visual quality and consistency of the product upon thawing.
After opening, Abbot Kinney's drinks should be used within 5 days. Because the drinks do not contain preservatives, they are susceptible to spoilage after being opened for a prolonged period of time. Once opened, do not leave opened unrefrigerated for an extended period of time. Storage at room temperature will shorten the shelf life and, just like cow’s milk, Abbot Kinney's plant-based drinks will spoil if left unrefrigerated too long.
Unopened Abbot Kinney's drinks can be stored in your fridge up until the “BEST BEFORE” date printed on top of the carton.
Abbot Kinney's plant-based drinks can be used in just about any recipe calling for traditional cow’s milk or other dairy alternative milk. It can be used in baking, soups and sauces, as well as heated up for hot drinks, etc.
